The Enigma is the lightest and most minimalist quilt. Pairing the beloved quilt template of The Revelation quilt with a completely sewn-closed footbox, it's the perfect ultralight quilt for those who always get cold feet. Exceptionally warm as well as extraordinarily light, the Enigma offers upper body freedom of movement, while providing structure for your feet. The Enigma doesn't have a zipper or a built in hood, saving even more space and weight in your pack.

The Enigma is a quilt, not a sleeping bag, which means it's designed to be used with a sleeping pad to provide insulation underneath you, between you and the ground.

Features:

  • Included pad attachment system uses elastic straps and clips on each side of the quilt to keep it secure on a sleeping pad and lock out drafts on cold nights.
  • Snap and drawcord neck closure lets you fine-tune draft control.
  • Unique U-shaped continuous baffles keep the down where you need it, all night long.
  • For stuff sacks and compression sizes please check our charts found here.
  • Includes Silnylon Stuff Sack (.3oz-.8oz), 100% cotton storage bag, and 2 Elastic Straps (0.4oz each - One Straight, One Loop).
  • Stuffed, finished and inspected in Winona, MN. Shells are imported.
  • Sewn-closed footbox. No zippers and no cinches. Great for sleepers with cold feet.
  • Quilt Temperature Rating Guide
  • Consider buying a compression sack or compression dry sack along with your quilt: We recommend a size ‘XS’ if your quilt size is regular / regular and you are an experienced compressor. We recommend a size ‘S’ compression sack for any size over regular / regular, or if you prefer an easier stuffing experience.

ENLIGHTENED EQUIPMENT

Top-quality ultralight sleeping gear and outdoor apparel made with a passion, that goes where you go.

Founder Tim Marshall started sewing quilts by himself in his basement in 2007. As demand for Enlightened Equipment products grew, so did the business. Today, Enlightened Equipment has more than 50 employees creating quilts, clothing, accessories, and more in a 50,000 square foot building in Winona, MN.

EE Revelation quilt has a near cult following. Long distance backpackers now use quilts more than sleeping bags, and it’s easy to see why. For the weight conscious hiker, it doesn't get much better than this.

The bottom of a sleeping bag, or the part you sleep on, doesn't keep you warm. Hence, while sleeping bags fully encompass the user head-to-toe, sleeping quilts only cover the most necessary parts of the body. Sleeping quilts lack the hood of a sleeping bag, as well as the insulation underneath your body in exchange for a more highly versatile sleeping experience.

Sleeping quilts can be formed as blankets, or closer to full bags, depending on the temperatures and variables the night calls for, while sleeping bags will only wrap around the user fully in the 'mummy bag' fashion.
