For my old mate Justin

Sometimes having a bivvy sack in you ski-Touring day pack is enough, but when you get older you do need some extra piece of mind, Just in Case.
Weight of the insulation isn't given but it seems to be about 65GSM the same as a Nanopuff jacket. Can be compressed to a third the size of the little stuff sack so I can get a bit more gear into my pack and the total weight is so low I won't really notice it. That's the good part.
The bad news is that this is so skinny cut on the top half of the bag that anybody who wears a Mens large or bigger won't be able to close the zipper so I lose the benefit of a full length insulation layer and will need to carry something for my top half.
As an extra layer over a lightweight down bag in winter to get a temperature boost don't expect more than 5 degrees due to the fact that the insulation is stitched sewn though both shell layers so the benefit of windproofing on the exterior is lost. As a liner it might add at least ten degrees Celsius until the Primaloft Silver degrades but the Silver is a reasonable robust fibre. It's a cheap solution to a problem I just wish it was cut bigger around the chest and shoulders

Big Agnes

THE MOTHER OF ALL COMFORT

At our core, we want to inspire you to get outside and find the same appreciation for the backcountry we have.

Big Agnes started over 20 years ago with the goal to build better gear to get people out camping. It was a simple idea rooted in providing comfort to brave souls sleeping in the backcountry and keeping them on their sleeping pad. Who could have imagined two decades later we would be making award-winning gear, changing the sustainability game with solution-dyed tent fabrics, and helping you haul all that gear in backpacks?

Based in a ski town in northwestern Colorado, our backyard is an outdoor paradise, and our testing grounds are within sight of our office. The Continental Divide Trail is home to some of our favorite trails for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking; the Mount Zirkel Wilderness beckons us with its high alpine summits. The Yampa River flows a stone’s throw from our office; and on most lunch hours the office is quiet enough to hear a pin drop while we’re out finding fresh air or fresh tracks of one kind or another.

Being surrounded by outdoor recreation makes us appreciate our environment every time we get outside. We strive to incorporate practices from design ideation to end-of-life solutions committed to protecting the outdoors. Our social impact is greater than the gear we manufacture. We partner with over 20 organizations that help protect our public lands, support sustainable practices, and lead in equality and inclusivity.

Our urge to sleep under the stars and breathe fresh mountain air is what continually drives us and keeps us motivated. In the end, the bluebird summits and nights spent listening to raging creeks or even highway noise have made the journey awesome, and truth be told, we wouldn't want it any other way.
